Amy’s easy lymph cleanse… Spring 2008
While the cleavers (Galium aparine) are still young - yes those sticky plants that you used to stick to anything and anyone when you were a kid! - try making a cold infusion for a lovely lymphatic cleanse.
Forage in your garden or in a hedgerow close to you and pick a handful of fresh tops (before the plant has flowered) being careful to pick healthy plants above dog height (if there are any around - this is because dogs can carry pathogens harmful to us in their urine).
Once back inside, simply add the tops to a glass or jug of cold water and leave for a few hours, or overnight. I usually leave overnight and then drink in the morning before any food. The lovely cucmbery vanilla taste livens up the water and is an excellent immune tonic, helping the lymphatic fluid to carry away toxins.
You can keep it in the fridge for a couple of days if you need and enjoy it!
